The Gallia County Emancipation Proclamation Board of Directors is seeking your help to bring history to our community.

It is our mission to make this event bigger than it has been in years. We want to reach every family in this community with activities, education, entertainment, historical reenactors, church services, vendors, and most of all, good food, good conversation, and great times!

The Board is pleased to announce that this year’s celebration will be held at the University of Rio Grande on:

Saturday, September 19, 2026
Sunday, September 20, 2026

This will be the 163rd year for the Annual Emancipation Day Celebration to be held in Gallia County. All funds raised will be used toward accomplishing our organizational goals. We anticipate this to be our biggest celebration yet, and we need your support!
